The staff of Mears Housing Management and Mears 24/7 based in Enfield joined forces on Friday 18 May to bake and, most importantly, eat cakes to raise funds for the Mears Foundation.
Each cake was judged by three culinary afficianados (or, in other words, people who know how to eat cake!) and then the cakes were sold to staff at 50p per slice.
The standard was again very high but, eventually two cakes rose to the top.
Koulla Solomon from Mears 24/7 was our master baker this time around with an excellent chocolate and strawberry gateau that drew special praise from the judges for its presentation. Koulla is pictured here with the judging panel; previous bake off winner Mirela Cristache, Diane Carter and Kevin Wilmot.
In total, another excellent MHM event raised £75 for the Mears Foundation.
A special thank you to all who purchased, worked, and promoted the Enfield bake sale last week. It was a wonderful team effort and proved to be a great success!
