Children at Watcombe School read to older people as part of their Silver Stories. ..

Mears Care, Torbay are involved in a local scheme called Silver Listeners where children from a local school read to isolated clients over the phone.

Nikki Barnes contacted the Mears Foundation when the school budget for books was reduced.

The Mears Foundation were happy to support the purchase of new books.

The book delivery really put a smile on the Silver Listeners faces, they were over the moon!

Nigel was delighted to win the Ostrich egg...

I was surprised that I won the raffle, I enter quite a few but never win and was really pleased when it was announced that the Ostrich Egg was my prize.  I promptly gave this to my wife for Easter who was equally pleased, and yes she is going to share it with me, but we have not started it yet, with over 1kg of chocolate to get through it will last us a few days at least.

Many thanks to the MF for organising the raffle with all donations going to worthy causes.

Thank you Nigel!

Enjoy the chocolates with your wife.

Happy Easter

The Trustees would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our supporters. Your donations are always very much appreciated.
